Couples Therapy / Family Counseling
Are you encountering difficulties in your relationship?
Do you struggle to connect with your partner on an emotional or physical level?
Are you feeling uncertain about the love that once flourished between you?
Is ineffective communication leading to frequent misunderstandings?
Has trust been compromised?
If any of these questions resonate with you,
it's important to know that you are not alone.
I utilize a variety of approaches to help my clients address and overcome relationship challenges. I often draw on attachment theory, which is a theory that explains how our formative relationships with primary caregivers, typically parents, shape our expectations of love. The availability and responsiveness of these caregivers to our physical and emotional needs significantly influence our self-perception and our perceptions of others.
In adult relationships, our attachment system is activated by our partners, revealing inherent needs, fears, and desires. When these are not addressed or processed, we experience fear and emotional pain. It is common for couples and families to respond to attachment-related distress by falling into negative cycles of blame, aggression, or withdrawal. This often leads to significant turmoil in our most important relationships, leaving us feeling isolated and questioning their sustainability.
My aim as a therapist is to help you develop a strong and enduring emotional connection with those you cherish. I achieve this by examining the dynamics of your interactions to uncover any patterns that might be obstructing your relationship. With empathy and attentiveness, I will assist you in uncovering your deeper emotions and communicating them to your partner in a way that fosters understanding and support.
