I’m Inbal Gurari, founder of Resilience Within Therapy.

I work with individual adults impacted by emotionally unsafe, minimizing, or controlling relationships, especially when those experiences have led to persistent self-doubt, emotional vigilance, or difficulty trusting one’s own perceptions.

Many of the people I work with appear capable and grounded on the outside, yet internally feel chronically unsettled, unsure of themselves, or quietly questioning their own reactions.

You do not need certainty about whether what you experienced counts as abuse or neglect to work with me. Many people begin therapy here feeling unsure about what happened, confused by their reactions, or no longer trusting their own perceptions.

Therapy with me is collaborative and carefully paced, with attention to internal safety and consent. There is no pressure to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or move faster than your system can tolerate.

Who I work with

I work with adults in-office in Scottsdale and offer Telehealth therapy across Arizona, California, and Massachusetts.

My work focuses on helping adults rebuild self-trust, boundaries, and a basic sense of emotional safety after long-term emotionally unsafe or controlling relationships.

If this resonates, you are not alone, and there is nothing wrong with you.

How I Work

My work is relational and grounded in attachment and nervous-system understanding. Rather than treating anxiety, burnout, or relationship distress as isolated symptoms, we look at how your nervous system learned to adapt in environments that did not feel emotionally safe.

Therapy with me is collaborative, steady, and carefully paced. Safety matters here. Consent matters here. There is no pressure to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or move faster than your system is ready for.

We work together to build internal stability, clarity, and a stronger sense of agency, so your life is no longer organized around managing threat or self-doubt.

You do not need to have the right words, a clear story, or a specific goal when we begin. â€‹â€‹â€‹

Why pacing and safety matter here

My clinical work is shaped by both professional training and lived understanding. I know how long-term emotional harm can quietly shape how you relate to yourself and others, often without clear language for what is happening.

My experience is not the focus of therapy, but it allows me to recognize patterns that are often missed or minimized, and to meet them with care rather than judgment.

Training and Background

Before becoming a licensed psychotherapist, I earned a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. This work focused on research and theory rather than clinical practice, and it continues to inform how I understand relationships, systems, and human behavior.

I later earned a Master’s degree in Social Work, which is the degree through which I completed my clinical training and became licensed as a psychotherapist. I also completed advanced postgraduate training in trauma treatment.

My work draws from trauma-focused and attachment-based approaches, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (informing attachment-focused individual trauma work).

I have practiced across private practice, community mental health, corporate, and educational settings. I also provide short-term trauma-informed support following critical incidents.

These experiences reinforced something I hold deeply: with the right kind of support, people can heal in meaningful ways and change how they relate to themselves and others.

What to Expect

In our work together, you can expect a space that is steady, respectful, and non-judgmental. We will focus on understanding your patterns, reducing the impact of past harm, and helping you feel more grounded and secure in your internal world and in your relationships.

Healing from emotional abuse and relational trauma is not about erasing the past or forcing forgiveness. It is about reclaiming your sense of safety, self-trust, and choice.

This work may not be a fit for those seeking directive coaching, rapid symptom relief, or highly structured treatment plans.

A Final Word

If you are here, you are not broken. You are not failing. You adapted in intelligent ways to difficult circumstances.

Therapy is a place where you do not have to carry all of this alone anymore. I will meet you with steadiness, care, and a genuine commitment to helping you feel more at home in yourself.

If you are considering therapy and want to see whether this work feels like a good fit, you are welcome to reach out. I offer a brief consultation so we can talk about what you are looking for and whether working together makes sense.
