Welcome
I’m a seasoned psychotherapist and the owner of Resilience Within Therapy, PLLC, a private practice dedicated to helping people heal from trauma, abuse, and neglect. I work with individuals, couples, and families, supporting them as they move through pain, rebuild trust, and cultivate stronger, more fulfilling relationships.
My Approach
My work is trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and relational. I draw from evidence-based modalities and tailor each treatment plan to your unique needs, history, and pace. Therapy with me is collaborative and compassionate - we explore your experiences together with curiosity, honesty, and care. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful tool for healing. I listen actively, ask meaningful questions, and offer feedback that is kind, thoughtful, and gently challenging. My style is warm, grounded, and deeply respectful of where you are in your process.
Lived Experience & Understanding
In addition to my professional background, my own lived experience with abuse and recovery has deeply shaped who I am as a therapist. I understand firsthand how painful, confusing, and isolating trauma can be - and how profoundly it can affect your sense of safety, trust, and self-worth. This understanding allows me to meet clients not only with clinical expertise, but also with genuine empathy and compassion born from experience. I know that healing takes courage, and I honor the bravery it takes to begin that process.
Education & Experience
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I earned a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, where I studied the ways people are influenced and shaped by relationships and environments. While research deepened my understanding of human behavior, I wanted to work more directly with people, so I went on to earn a Master’s in Social Work and began my clinical career. Over the years, I’ve worked in private practice, community mental health, corporate settings, and educational environments. These experiences have reinforced my belief that with the right support, people can heal deeply and transform how they relate to themselves and others.
What to Expect
In our work together, you’ll find a space where you can safely explore your experiences, emotions, and inner world - free from judgment or pressure. Together, we’ll work to help you understand your patterns, nurture your strengths, and develop tools for greater peace and connection. Healing from trauma and abuse is not about erasing the past - it’s about reclaiming your sense of safety, wholeness, and self-trust.
A Final Word
Reaching out for help takes immense courage. When you take that step, I’ll meet you with steadiness, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to your healing journey. You don’t have to face it alone - healing is possible, and you deserve to experience safety and connection again.
